Peggy and Edmond’s destination wedding in Biarritz was a masterclass in personalisation, artistry, and contemporary luxury. Designed around the idea of thoughtful nostalgia, their celebration blended music, literature, culture, and playful creativity into an exquisitely curated multi-day experience across the Basque region.

The weekend began with an intimate concert curated by Peggy, a conductor, to honour the music that shaped their relationship. Guests were treated to deeply personal moments: a performance of Misty with Peggy singing while Edmond accompanied her on piano, followed by a nostalgic mother–daughter duet of The Entertainer, echoing Peggy’s childhood debut on stage.

Their Biarritz destination wedding wove together refined design and meaningful cultural heritage. The morning began with lively Chinese gatecrashing games before transitioning into a traditional tea ceremony, honouring their families and their roots; Our Bride from Hong Kong and Our Groom from Singapore.

Following the tea ceremony, the symbolic wedding ceremony took place on the serene lakeside pontoon, where the couple shared a heartfelt and joyful celebration with their guests.

At the reception, each guest discovered a bespoke escort card featuring a hand-selected literary quote. The aesthetic showcased artistically modern floral arrangements in blues, greens, pinks, and bold coral orange, with playful vegetable accents including iconic Basque chillies. Stationery mirrored the palette with contemporary typefaces and a clean, editorial feel. Guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated three-course meal, enhancing the sophisticated dining experience.

Rather than cutting a traditional cake, Peggy and Edmond created a show-stopping moment: smashing open a papier-mâché cake filled with hidden party props. The celebration continued with bespoke “His, Hers & Ours” cocktails inspired by the couple’s favourite films, along with a custom noodle bar where guests built their own bowls with Peggy and Edmond’s favourite toppings.

The weekend concluded in nearby San Sebastián with a curated pintxo bar hop through the city’s iconic culinary scene. Guests enjoyed a relaxed yet elevated tasting experience featuring the couple’s favourite Basque flavours by following a bespoke map. A perfect finale to this modern destination wedding.

WHAT REALLY SET HOLLY APART WAS HOW SHE SHOWED UP FOR US, AGAIN AND AGAIN.

We worked with Holly for over two years - venue hunting across three European cities, watching her become pregnant and then a mother - and she was there for every high and low. She turned our scattered ideas into something cohesive and beautiful, helping us weave our favourite things in life into every detail of the day, right down to what we named our cocktails. Her attention to detail meant nothing fell through the cracks, thematically or organisationally.

Holly researched the Chinese tea ceremony so thoroughly that she created shopping lists for traditional items we didn't even know we needed. On the morning of the wedding, she coordinated a military operation between herself, our Hong Kong makeup artist, and our photo/video team to make sure everyone understood the ceremony's intricacies. She walked us through the emotional roller coaster of wedding planning - guest list anxiety, family dynamics, dress shopping stress - with such empathy and calm.

On the day itself, she was everywhere we needed her to be. She helped Edmond print his vows, removed makeup stains from his tuxedo, made sure Peggy actually ate, ensured we didn't get drunk too early(!), and somehow made up an hour when we fell behind schedule. We're certain she hid countless other calamities from us (we're still trying to get those stories out of her).

Holly adapted to our somewhat chaotic selves with ease, taking on all the complexity of vendor coordination and contracts so we could just enjoy the process. She was incredibly generous with her time and became a genuine friend through it all.

Having Holly as our wedding planner was the best decision we made. We're so grateful she was by our side, and honestly? We wish we could get married again just so she could organise it once more.
