A Marquee Wedding in Surrey
David and Abigail
For David & Abigail's wedding, I had the pleasure of working with our gorgeous American Bride and English Gentleman, for whom we put together a Great British Marquee Wedding.
The Surrey Destination Wedding was hosted in a naturally beautiful garden setting, which gave us a well-kept canvas of lawn and flowers beds to build on.
Our Wedding Planning brief was to create a Rustic but fresh theme. To do that, we brought in a petal pole marquee to add a stylish and modern look while keeping a nod to tradition. We then added a sprinkle of magic to the marquee, by filling it with festoon string lights and an abundance of bright seasonal flowers. On this occasion with flowers we thought less was more so rather than one flower centrepiece per table we went for many different size and style bud vases to fill the entire length of the table.
To develop the styling further, we added cross back chairs with wooden farmhouse tables, grey napkins, modest black and white stationery and a sprig of olive on each place setting. For drinks we brought in the British Summer Classic ‘Pimms’ to serve alongside a British Classic culinary feast.
After the meal we brought in a Ceilidh band, which filled the marquee with music, dance and laughter. The guests danced the evening away, effortlessly bringing together our American and British cultures to celebrate David & Abigail’s special day.
